How to Apply for the California Relief Grant Program

Join us as CalNonprofits CSBG Program Manager Sue Sigler answers your questions about the grant program, and go through the application process with an emphasis on how nonprofits can fit into the application form.

There is $500 million of available in this round of funding, open from September 9-30.  If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are very likely to be awarded a grant. Basic requirements: annual income $2.5 million or less in 2019. 7500 nonprofits have already received grants from this program.

Round 9: September 9 - September 30

For new applicants, those denied for applying on the wrong form, and waitlisted applicants from earlier rounds (waitlisted do not reapply). Round 8 applicants should also apply in Round 9 using a different email address.

Sue Sigler CSBG Project Manager

Sue Sigler, MSW is a former member of the CalNonprofits Board of Directors and a consultant in private practice specializing in working with nonprofits in the areas of strategic planning, organizational growth, fundraising, and advocacy. In 2021 she has assisted over 2,000 nonprofits to access Covid relief from the state's California Relief Grant program.

With nearly 10,000 members, CalNonprofits is the voice of nonprofits in California, working with the legislature, government agencies, philanthropy, and the public to support the high-impact work that nonprofits do and to bring resources and information to its members.
