SVCN's Funding Your Impact (FYI) is a week-long hybrid opportunity for nonprofit fundraisers to hear strategies about how to confront the unique challenges and seize opportunities in today's confusing world of nonprofit fund development.

We’ll share proven fundraising strategies from leading experts and discuss emerging tools and techniques in the fund development field.

We're offering this summit as a four-part series of sessions starting Tuesday, May 14 at 9:30 AM with our in-person kick-off and continuing Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 virtually. 


Our in-person kick-off features 2 panels of local nonprofit leaders with decades of fundraising successes and learnings. Our keynote session is co-hosted by the Association of Fundraising Processionals (AFP Silicon Valley chapter)

KEYNOTE - Beyond the Check: Cultivating Meaningful Corporate Partnerships -- Tuesday, May 14 starting at 10:00 am

Building Capacity, Building Impact: Strategies for Sustainable Growth -- Tuesday, May 14 starting at 11:10 am

Sustaining a healthy nonprofit is challenging; growing a nonprofit’s impact is even harder! In this continuously changing landscape of giving, some nonprofits have found incredible fundraising success while elevating the needs of the community they serve. Join us for an enlightening session as these nonprofit leaders divulge the strategies, lessons learned, and pivotal moments that have amplified their organizations’ impact. Whether you're seeking to scale your operations or expand your reach, this panel of BIPOC-led organizations promises to equip you with the inspiration and practical wisdom needed to realize the boldest aspirations of the communities we collaborate with and serve.

Be a Bridge: Connecting Donors with Your Mission -- Wednesday, May 15 from 2 PM to 3 PM

What is going on inside the mind of a philanthropist and why do they give to your organization? Learn how to assert your expertise (even when you feel like you don’t have it) and connect those with capacity and passion to your mission. Learn how to get clear on what motivates donors and use this knowledge to deepen connections with current supporters and to build relationships with prospective supporters.

Objectives:

  • Develop strategies to assert organizational expertise and effectively communicate value propositions to donors, even in situations where confidence may be lacking, fostering trust and credibility.
  • Learn techniques for identifying and leveraging donor motivations to strengthen connections with current supporters and cultivate relationships with prospective donors, ultimately enhancing fundraising efforts and organizational sustainability.

Demystifying Donor Advised Funds: Understanding Structures and Maximizing Impact -- Thursday, May 16 from 2 PM to 3 PM

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are a rapidly growing segment of today’s philanthropy tools. What are they and how do they work? Join us for this candid and accessible overview of DAF structures, donor controls, and the mechanics of grant recommendations. You’ll also hear perspectives on how nonprofits can set themselves up for success to attract DAF funds and maximize your organization’s access to these critical resources. You don’t want to miss out on this chance to the gain tools and insights needed to thrive in today's philanthropic landscape.

Objectives:

  • Gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of DAFs, empowering your organization with the knowledge needed to navigate these funding avenues effectively.
  • Explore strategies and best practices for nonprofits to strategically position themselves to attract DAF funds, including insights on fostering connections with donors who utilize DAFs and maximizing the organization's access to these resources.
