Wielding the Power of Authenticity in Video

Wednesday, May 7 from 10 am to 11 am

Video is widely recognized as the most powerful tool in a nonprofit’s storytelling arsenal and a prime vehicle for creating these necessary connections. What holds development leaders from utilizing video to the fullest? Things like budget, staff time and capacity, and frankly - thinking too small! (“But we ALWAYS do a client story for our gala paddle raise video…” - Sound familiar?). In this energetic session, Stephanie Shaterian of fLOContent will provide the tools for your organization to create successful video projects for fundraising.

Objectives:

  • Gain a proven methodology for creating video content that both hits on key messaging while creating emotional response and impact
  • Learn tips for structuring a project to get multiple videos for different strategic initiatives utilizing the same assets
  • Explore key insights into different approaches to fund video projects

Best of all, this content can be used by organizations of any size, whether you are a one-person development department or have an in-house video team.

Strategies for Fund Development: Diversify and Boost Sustainable Revenue

Wednesday, May 7 from 2 pm to 3 pm

Learn how to diversify, enhance, and strengthen your organization’s income and revenue strategy for growth and sustainability! Erica McWorter of Excelevate Public Benefit LLC will prepare you to create and use a simple organization-specific fund development plan suited to your organization’s capacity, goals, and values.

Objectives:

  • Learn about powerful and approachable fund development strategies
  • Enhance your understanding of fund development opportunities beyond grant funding
  • Gain confidence and competence to create a plan suited to your organization’s current needs

By the end of this session, you will have the knowledge and resources to create a strategic fund development plan that aligns with your organization’s goals and values.

The Grantseeker’s Playbook: How to Thrive in Unpredictable Times

Thursday, May 8 from 10 am to 11 am

The grant funding landscape is rapidly shifting due to political pressures, economic uncertainty, and evolving funder priorities. But nonprofits are not powerless. Armed with smart grant strategies, your organization can adapt, lead, and grow, even in uncertain times. Join Melanie Das of BrainWaves Grant Consulting for a dynamic session on navigating today’s changing grant funding environment. You’ll walk away with clear, practical tools to stay resilient, respond to shifting priorities, and pursue funding with clarity and confidence.

Objectives:

  • Understand how funding shifts are reshaping the grant landscape and what it means for your organization
  • Learn to align your proposals with evolving priorities across government and foundation funders
  • Discover practical strategies to remain adaptive and resilient in an unpredictable climate
  • Build confidence to pursue funding while staying committed to equity and community impact

In the face of efforts to undermine REDI priorities, this session will equip you with actionable steps to help your nonprofit confidently prepare strong, values-driven grant applications that keep your organization mission-aligned and your community’s needs front and center.

Community Conversation: Reflections, Takeaways, Peer Support

Thursday, May 8 from 2 pm to 3 pm

Join the SVCN team and your fellow Funding Your Impact Summit attendees for a community conversation to close out the Summit. This is a space to reflect on key takeaways, share how your organization is navigating the evolving fundraising landscape, and support one another through questions, ideas, and resources. Come ready to connect, debrief, and leave with renewed insight and community strength.

Objectives:

  • Foster peer learning and support by creating space for attendees to share real-time challenges, strategies, and resources related to fundraising and organizational sustainability
  • Synthesize key takeaways from the Summit through collective reflection, to identify actionable insights attendees can bring back to their organizations
  • Strengthen connections among attendees to build a sense of shared purpose and ongoing community beyond the Summit, encouraging continued collaboration and knowledge exchange
