Meet our recently-elected San José City Councilmembers!

Nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Councilmembers Pamela Campos, Anthony Tordillos, Michael Mulcahy, and George Casey about the needs and concerns of their communities and organizations. Attendees will also learn about the ideas, visions, and priorities of San Jose's newest councilmembers.

SVCN team members Kylie Clark, Kyra Kazantzis, Gianella Ordoñez, and Shannon Zhang will facilitate rotating group dialogue sessions. Come prepared with questions and anything you want to share with the councilmembers!

Please be aware that in order to allow for meaningful dialogue among attendees, we have capped attendance. Additionally, whereas the event is open to all nonprofits, SVCN members have priority admission. Lastly, to keep this event interactive, please send only one person from your organization.

Contact Kylie Clark at [email protected] with any questions.

Speakers

Councilmember Pamela Campos -- District 2

Pamela Campos is the youngest woman ever elected to the San José City Council. The proud daughter of immigrants and the eldest of four daughters, she grew up in the Vista Park neighborhood of South San José and attended local schools, from Horace Mann Elementary to Gunderson High School. Before serving on the City Council, Pamela spent over a decade in education, beginning as a preschool teacher. She later worked at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), supporting programs aimed at expanding economic opportunities for families. She also served as Chair of the Policy Advisory Committee for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), advocating for policies that improve access and equity in regional transportation. Pamela is committed to building a San José that is welcoming, equitable, and full of opportunity for all. She believes in the power of community-driven solutions and collaborative leadership to ensure every resident has access to the resources, infrastructure, and support they need to thrive.

Councilmember Anthony Tordillos -- District 3

Anthony Tordillos is the councilmember for San José’s District 3. He is San José’s third openly gay and first Filipino-American councilmember. Growing up with a chronically ill father, Anthony learned firsthand the importance of a government that works to support working families. With support from social safety net programs and quality public schools, he became the first in his family to graduate college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Yale in 2014. Anthony and his husband, Giovanni, moved to San José in 2018 and became co-presidents of their neighborhood association near San José State University. In 2022, Anthony was appointed to the San José Planning Commission, where he helped secure a compliant Housing Element and worked tirelessly to advocate for policies to improve affordability, prevent displacement, and pave the way for new homes. Anthony understands that governing is about delivering results on urgent issues like housing affordability, public safety, and economic opportunity.

Councilmember Michael Mulcahy -- District 6

Councilmember Michael Mulcahy, a San José native and lifelong resident of District 6, has dedicated his career to building a stronger, safer, and more economically vibrant city. He and his wife Kimberly raised their three daughters—Claire, Ella, and Camille—in Willow Glen, embodying his deep commitment to the community. Mulcahy was born and raised in District 6. As Managing Partner of SDS NexGen Partners, a family-owned real estate investment and asset management firm since 2001, Mulcahy oversaw property acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition in the Bay Area and beyond. Elected to the San José City Council in November 2024, Councilmember Mulcahy took office in January 2025. He is committed to addressing key issues such as public safety, homelessness, and economic development while preserving the character of San Jose's neighborhoods.

Councilmember George Casey -- District 10

George Casey grew up in Santa Teresa and lived in Almaden for 35 years. He moved to District 10 at the age of 5 and went on to Bellarmine, where George built a life-long appreciation of how strong communities bring out the best in each of us. George graduated from Santa Clara University and then earned his law degree at Santa Clara Law — along with a master’s degree in Urban Planning from San José State and a master’s degree in Real Estate from UC Berkeley. Family has always been the most important thing in George’s life, and he’s raising his kids in District 10. After working at a major law firm, he joined the start-up world as a senior counsel and began to serve the people of San José as a Planning Commissioner — where he has fought for sensible decisions that create the new housing we need without destroying the character of our beautiful neighborhoods. He’s always been curious about cities, the built environment, and urban sprawl — and wants to be at the forefront of helping the city reach its full potential.
