Nonprofits will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, briefly share more about the work of their organization, and have an open conversation about the needs and concerns of their communities and organizations. Attendees will also have the chance to hear more about Jennifer's vision for First 5 and her plans for the sector as a whole.
This Meet & Greet is intended for nonprofits throughout Santa Clara County.

Speaker: Jennifer Kelleher Cloyd, CEO, First 5 Santa Clara County
Moderator: Victor Vasquez, Co-Executive Director, SOMOS Mayfair
Prior to joining FIRST 5 Santa Clara County, Ms. Cloyd served as the Chief Program Officer for the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, where she expanded the Legal Advocates for Children and Youth (LACY) program. Ms. Cloyd led the development and management of a multidisciplinary team of attorneys, social workers, and support staff to provide comprehensive and responsive services to children and families in Santa Clara County.
Ms. Cloyd is currently a Community Advisory Member of the Santa Clara County Child Abuse Prevention Council, and serves on the board of directors of Razing the Bar, a nonprofit that provides comprehensive mentorship and housing support services to current and former foster youth across the Silicon Valley region. She has previously served on a variety of other local and regional boards, councils, and working groups. She has focused on systems change work that creates client-centered, equitable and responsive transformation.
Ms. Cloyd is a mom to two school-age children and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also received her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she held a number of internships, jobs, and clerkships focused on civil rights and child advocacy.
Victor Duarte-Vasquez migrated to Oakland, CA at the age of 7 from Mexico. Victor is currently one of the Co-Director for SOMOS Mayfair and supports the Organizing and Transformational partnerships work. As part of SOMOS Mayfair and the Si Se Puede Collective, Victor is committed to building a movement that advocates for community decision making, alternative solutions and economic justice in Santa Clara County. Victor holds a master’s degree in Mexican American Studies with an emphasis in education from San Jose State University and a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley.
