How is art healing the injustices of the world we know today? Thrive Alliance and San Mateo County Office of Arts and Culture present an interactive in-person session at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative space. During this experience, we will learn how art intersects with racial equity and in what ways it has impacted our racial justice movement in the nonprofit sector.

Daly City Youth Poet Laureate Program poets Chloe Chou, Jescent Marcelino, and Hanna Docampo Pham will perform original poetry and engage the group in a collaborative poetry making session.

Casa Circulo Cultural will teach the group to make Mexican Paper Flowers, a traditional craft that has been a part of Mexican tradition for over 200 years and is especially significant during the upcoming Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration.

There will be an opportunity for you to view the exhibit Expressions of Joy from seven local San Mateo artists curated by the Redwood City Arts and Parks Foundation and supported by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI).

Visitors to the CZI Community Space must be fully vaccinated. Masking is optional.

Thank you to our sponsors helping us make registration fees for learning opportunities as accessible as possible.
