On October 5, we'll gather for Philanthropy's New Path: Racial Justice Front and Center.

At a time when the work for racial equity and justice is at the forefront of our consciousnesses, the challenges and opportunities for philanthropy are unprecedented. Foundations and donors have the potential to advance social change through their giving and convening power. Join moderator Fred Ferrer (Chief Executive Officer, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley) and panelists Gina Dalma (Executive Vice President, Silicon Valley Community Foundation), Holly Kreider (Program Director, Community Heising-Simons Foundation), and Adam Fong (Program Officer in Performing Arts, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation) as they discuss this time of pivotal change in philanthropy. How have their organizations changed as a result of our society's greater awareness of persistent racial inequities and structural racism? How are funders applying an equity lens to their giving? How are local grant-makers responding to support the transformative change that is needed in this moment?

About the Nonprofit Racial Justice Summit:

The Summit is hosted by Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN), Thrive Alliance and Sacred Heart Community Service. The Summit is designed for the region's nonprofit organizations leadership, staff, and board members.

The Summit will be a learning environment where we can deepen our understanding about how to meet the nonprofit racial equity pledge and to advance racial justice and equity within our institutions and in our community. It is also a call to action for nonprofits.

The art for the Summit -- No Going Back -- was created by Bay Area artist and activist Favianna Rodriguez.
