SCROLL DOWN TO REGISTER FOR UPDATES ON THE RESCHEDULED DATE

We regret to inform you that due to a personal emergency, Fred Blackwell is unable to join us for the scheduled keynote session at the Nonprofit Racial Justice Summit on Monday, October 4th at 2pm. Mr. Blackwell sends his sincerest apologies and looks forward to rescheduling this event in the near future. We will be sure to let you all know as soon as we have a new date for this much anticipated session.

On the rescheduled date, we'll gather for No Going Back: Fireside Chat with Fred Blackwell (Keynote) .

It has been just over one year since a peak in the Movement for Black Lives following the murders of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks, and George Floyd, and 18 months into a global pandemic that has devastated families and communities across the world. Since then, nonprofits and activists for social change agree that we can't revert back to business as usual. Last year, many of us made commitments to fight systemic racism, hold our organizations to higher standards, and co-create -- centering community voice -- a racially just community. Now is the time to reflect on how we're going to move forward and hold ourselves to the commitments we made. Join us for a special fireside chat with Fred Blackwell, CEO of the San Francisco Foundation, where he will share his insights on what it takes and unpack what it means to authentically commit to racial justice  and share how his experiences helped shape the transformative changes he led at San Francisco Foundation to uphold their own commitments to build an equitable and thriving Bay Area. Jahmal Williams, Director of Advocacy for Racial Justice at San Jose State University, will engage in this dialogue with Mr. Blackwell.

About the Nonprofit Racial Justice Summit:

The Summit is hosted by Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN), Thrive Alliance and Sacred Heart Community Service. The Summit is designed for the region's nonprofit organizations leadership, staff, and board members.

The Summit will be a learning environment where we can deepen our understanding about how to meet the nonprofit racial equity pledge and to advance racial justice and equity within our institutions and in our community. It is also a call to action for nonprofits.

The art for the Summit -- No Going Back -- was created by Bay Area artist and activist Favianna Rodriguez.
