The culture and mission-driven commitments of non-profit work can lead to overwork, high stress, and burnout. As nonprofit professionals, the toll of taking care of the community, especially during challenging times, can also contribute to negative mental health outcomes. Self care is always presented as a solution to these issues, but what if we reimagined self care as a preventative measure, not just as response? How do we instill this reimagining of self care into the cultures of our employers? In this webinar, our speakers will explore self care as a way of being, not just as one-off activities. Johanna and her colleagues will offer insight on culturally sensitive self care practices and the dangers of toxic positivity.
